Tabio Shirt Jacket
Tabio Shirt Jacket
This shirt jacket is made from a medium-weight plaid fabric hand-woven on pedal loom by Juan Pablo Romero in Tabio, Colombia. This is one of our favorite pieces we’ve made but also one of the most tedious and difficult to create. The loose weave of the fabric makes for a laborious but rewarding piece to sew. Juan Pablo is the first artisan we work with outside Mexico, he hand-weaves all his fabrics at his home in the town of Tabio 1 hour outside Bogota, Colombia. After graduation he decided to start weaving and has been creating textiles for over 26 years.
